Jim Lammers has enjoyed teaching all styles of guitar music for more than 20 years in Kansas City, Missouri. He is fully committed to providing the best instruction possible for each student. Anyone age 10 through adult is welcome to enroll in private guitar lessons. Students who are new to the guitar will be playing music after just a few lessons. Students who already have experience playing the guitar will further develop their guitar skills and repertoire with instruction given at the appropriate level. The majority of private guitar students continue with lessons for an average of 1-2 years. Students who have specific artistic goals and who want to have a broad musical experience, continue with lessons for 3-4 years.

Guitar Studio Philosophy - Practice at home is essential for steady progress. Music reading and theory for the guitarist will be included in the lessons. Students will learn the appropriate performance technique for any level and style. Music listening and improvisational skills will be cultivated. A personal repertoire will be developed. Students will be encouraged to share the joy of performing. 

Guitar Studio Attendance - The calendar year is divided into 9 week sessions (see calendar below). At any time throughout the year however, a student may enroll and start private guitar lessons. Lesson times are reserved for 30 minutes each week. There are no make-up lessons, credits, or refunds given for student absences or cancellations. If needed, a student may change the scheduled lesson time to a new regular lesson time. A lesson cancelled by the instructor will be credited towards the following 9 week session.

Guitar Studio Fee - Payment for a full 9 week session is $225.00 and is due at the start of the session. If a student starts lessons after a session start date (below), then payment for the remaining weeks of that session are assessed at $25.00 each. A discounted payment option for 2 consecutive 9 week sessions is offered at $425.00. Payment for lessons may be made at the studio, or a credit card payment option for full sessions may be made on this webpage.
